Im trying to weld some intercooler pipe, ive shamfered the edges on both sides and cleaned it and i cant stop it burning a hole through the pipe. Whats the best cup size for this? I managed to start a weld but not happy with the result

I think there needs to be a section specifically for aluminium welding technique, I have a similar problem. I also can't even perform a tack weld between two pieces of aluminium, the arc wants to jump between the two pieces of Ali and I can't heat both pieces equally, the Ali either melts or doesn't get hot enough to create a puddle, if I try to add filler it only sticks to the piece that's hotter. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
